Endless running games get old after a while. To keep things fresh, Island of Clouds uses a fully featured physics simulation engine. This breaths life into animations like falling rocks and exploding barrels. The main character uses rag doll animations to make dying a little more fun.
I'm currently developing Island of Clouds using Unreal Engine 4's node based scripting system. Level and scene components were composed in UE4's 3D editing space and many objects are randomized or generated dynamically.
Island of Clouds takes advantage of UE4's dynamic rendering engine to create diverse lighting situations from day to night and in-door or out door scenes. Island of Clouds has been optimized for mobile running at 30fps even with dynamic movable lights.
