AR Isn’t just for Pokémon and gimmicky advertising. We used the tech to tell an inherently human story that lived in viewers world. Mixing reality made the story more poignant and life like. Viewers take control of the camera and become the director of this short film. They are introduced to the character by looking her eye-to-eye at a human scale. They can see her blink, breath and cry as they step into her world. We also pushed the technology of volumetric scanning by rigging the 3D capture of the actor to respond to the viewer. At the end of the video, the actor looks directly at the viewer and holds their gaze. This was a technical first, in the service of making the story more human and immersive.
